Testosterone Replacement Therapy by Telehealth in Utah and Idaho

Hormone Balance Centers provides testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) by telehealth for men in Utah and Idaho. TRT is prescribed only after an individual clinical evaluation, and men already on TRT can transfer their care to us.

Testosterone injections only. Self-pay, with costs disclosed before you pay.

Who is a good candidate for TRT?

TRT may be right for men who have symptoms consistent with testosterone deficiency and consistently low testosterone on appropriate testing, after an individual clinical evaluation.

Symptoms alone, or a single low test result, do not guarantee treatment. Your clinician looks at your symptoms, history and results together before recommending anything.

Still working out whether low testosterone explains how you feel? Start with low testosterone symptoms and testing.

Already on TRT somewhere else?

Men transferring established TRT care are a significant part of our practice. Your clinician reviews your existing labs, your current prescription and your established dosage when you transfer.

When is TRT not appropriate?

TRT may not be appropriate for men planning fertility, or for men with elevated hematocrit, untreated severe sleep apnea, prostate or breast cancer concerns, or certain significant cardiovascular conditions.

Planning fertility

If you are planning to have children, tell your clinician before treatment starts. TRT may not be the right choice for you.

Blood and sleep findings

Elevated hematocrit or untreated severe sleep apnea can make TRT inappropriate.

Cancer or heart concerns

Prostate or breast cancer concerns, or certain significant cardiovascular conditions, can also rule TRT out.

Some patients need evaluation or treatment for another condition instead. In that case, your clinician discusses other next steps with you rather than prescribing testosterone.

What happens at the first TRT visit?

You complete a health intake and bloodwork first, then meet your clinician by live video to review your results and decide on a plan together.

1

Health intake

Share your history, medications, symptoms, goals and any previous treatment.

2

Bloodwork first

New patients complete labs before the first video visit. Transfer patients have existing labs reviewed.

3

Live video visit

Your clinician reviews your results, discusses risks and benefits, and answers your questions.

4

Individualized plan

If TRT is appropriate, you get a treatment and monitoring plan built for you.

An evaluation does not guarantee a prescription. Clinicians make all diagnosis, prescribing and treatment decisions.

What labs are checked before TRT?

Before your first video visit, you complete the HBC Male HRT panel.

  • Total testosterone
  • Estradiol
  • Hemoglobin and hematocrit
  • PSA
  • Creatinine and eGFR
  • GGT

Additional testing depends on your history and findings. That includes a repeat morning testosterone test when it is needed to establish the diagnosis.

Transferring care?

If you already have an established TRT dosage and lab history, your clinician starts by reviewing those existing labs and your current prescription.

What form of testosterone does HBC prescribe?

TRT at Hormone Balance Centers is testosterone injections only. We do not prescribe testosterone creams.

Your medication and dose are prescribed individually by your clinician, based on your evaluation and your results.

Where the medication comes from

Testosterone through Brighton Compounding Pharmacy is $80 for a 90-day supply. Brighton is a separate business from Hormone Balance Centers, and medication is purchased separately.

How is TRT monitored over time?

Monitoring is individualized. There is no single schedule that applies to everyone.

  • Starting TRT: you may need earlier check-ins and more lab work.
  • Stable on an established dose: you generally get an asynchronous follow-up within about six months.
  • Transferring with an established dose and lab history: new bloodwork is generally not needed at that follow-up unless it is clinically indicated.
  • When something changes: monitoring is adjusted if your dose changes, symptoms persist or side effects develop.

Follow-up lab panel

When follow-up labs are needed, the panel includes total testosterone, estradiol, hemoglobin and hematocrit. Other tests are added based on your needs.

How much does TRT cost at Hormone Balance Centers?

There are two separate ways to pay for TRT care, and testosterone medication is always purchased separately.

Pay only if prescribed

Evaluation and prescription-fee option

$49prescription fee, only if prescribed

  • Initial evaluation visit: no separate charge

Annual-care program

$750first year, new to TRT

$400per year for transfers

  • Priced per year, not a monthly membership

Medication is purchased separately under either option (Brighton Compounding Pharmacy, $80 per 90-day supply). Labs are separate under both options: use your own provider or our $100 lab panel, as long as it is the full HBC Male HRT panel. With the evaluation option, optional follow-up visits are also separate. Costs are disclosed before you pay. Neither option is an all-inclusive package. Self-pay only: no insurance, HSA or FSA.

The two are separate offerings and are not combined.

Questions about TRT at Hormone Balance Centers

Will I get a testosterone prescription at my first visit?

Not necessarily. An evaluation does not guarantee a prescription. Your clinician reviews your symptoms, history and bloodwork, and prescribes TRT only if it is appropriate for you.

What happens to my current dose if I transfer my TRT care?

Your clinician reviews your existing labs, prescription and established dosage. Medication and dosing are always prescribed individually by your clinician.

Can I start TRT if I am planning to have children?

TRT may not be appropriate for men planning fertility. Tell your clinician about your plans so they can discuss other next steps with you.

Is TRT at Hormone Balance Centers done entirely online?

Your intake, live video visits and ongoing communication happen online, and you use the patient portal for care information and messages. Bloodwork is completed before your first video visit.
